Malaria Hot Spot Countries
As we have reiterated on this site it only takes one bite from an infected mosquito to contract malaria. Many of the malaria hotspots are countries that are third world or developing and if you are in a remote area of one of these countries, in come cases just about anywhere in these countries, and find that you have transmitted the disease, without the relevant awareness and preparation you are taking your life into your own hands.
If preventative methods are unsuccessful or just not taken and you are unfortunate enough to become infected you must get treatment immediately. Getting from a remote area to a town with a hospital may not be possible but it is vital to bear in mind that not all hospitals in many of the malaria hotspot countries will have the drugs and recourses necessary to treat you so just by reaching a hospital it might not be enough to save you. However travelling to a malaria hotspot with sufficient medication that you keep with you at all times can save your life or give you that bit longer to reach the medical help that you need.
